Training Services

Services of the Training and Development Department are provided at two centres. i.e. the Management Training Centre at Town Hall and Technical Training Centre at Madampitiya.

Management Training Unit,

Provides: "In-House Training" for Senior, Middle and Junior Managers, and Staff Members in managerial skills,

Conducts: Computer Training and Language Training [Sinhala, Tamil & English] for employees,

Co-ordinates: Local external and foreign training for employees

Technical Training Centre, Madampitiya,

Provides: "In-House Training" for:

Technical Officers and Overseers of the Council to up-grade Technical skills,

Minor employees with aptitude in various technical trades to enable them to get their promotions and to be partners in City development.

Youth from Under-privileged families in association with the Public Assistance Department in Industrial Training, electrical wiring, plumbing, masonry, motor mechanism, work shops training, Computer Science etc.

In-Plant Training for:

Engineering Undergraduates of Universities in association with the NATIONAL APPRENTICE and INDUSTRIAL TRAINING AUTHORITY.
